Job Description

Overview Nurse Practitioner Winston Staffing has a 3 day a week contract opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner who has cardiac experience. This role will be working at in the PET CT department, so radiology experience is a big plus. The hours for this assignment are Tues, Weds and Thurs from 7:30 AM to 5 PM. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities Perform thorough physical examinations and assess patient health status across diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with complex medical conditions. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines and patient needs. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper protocols and safety standards. Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing, sonography, and other imaging modalities; interpret results accurately. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain, infectious diseases, gastrointestinal issues, and behavioral health concerns. Provide patient education on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing healthcare practices. Assist with discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and post-acute care coordination. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in advanced practice nursing. Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation standards. Experience in specialized areas such as cardiology and radiology. Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote patient care effectively. Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient-centered care. Strong critical thinking skills with the capacity to handle complex cases involving acute pain management or infectious disease care. #IND456
