A healthcare facility in Upstate New York is actively seeking a patient-oriented and dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA) to join their growing oncology team at their Facility in Jefferson County, NY. In this role, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA) provides healthcare services to patients, encompassing health promotion, cancer prevention, acute and chronic illness care, and education and counseling for patients and their families. Oncology Responsibilities:
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA): Assess patients' physical and psychological status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies Conduct patient examinations and collect physical condition information Order medical equipment, supplies, and various diagnostic tests (e.g., lab tests, X-rays, CT scans) Develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, including disease diagnosis and appropriate care plans Provide patient care, including administering injections, immunizations, wound care, and prescribing medications and therapies under supervision Interpret and evaluate findings from diagnostic studies, ensuring therapeutic plans align with patients' ongoing care needs Document patient history, admission notes, care plans, progress notes, discharge notes, and follow-up letters Supervise and coordinate the duties of procedural assistants, ensuring departmental policies and standards of care are maintained
Qualifications:
Current NYS Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Certification Oncology experience and knowledge Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
