High Pay Nurse Practitioner (NP) Opportunity - Inpatient Neurology Consultation Service Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and clinically skilled Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing inpatient neurology consultation service covering two community hospitals in Westchester County, New York. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely and collaboratively with the supervising neurologist to provide high-quality inpatient neurological care, assist with consultations, coordinate patient management, and facilitate safe and efficient discharges with the medical team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital-based neurology environment with exposure to a broad range of neurological conditions including stroke, seizure disorders, altered mental status, movement disorders, headaches, neuropathy, and general neurology consultations. Schedule Monday through Friday Daytime hospital coverage Average daily census: 8-12 patients No overnight call responsibilities (unless otherwise specified) Responsibilities Clinical Duties Perform inpatient neurology consultations and follow-up evaluations Obtain detailed medical histories and perform comprehensive neurological examinations Develop and formalize assessment and treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising neurologist Review laboratory data, imaging studies, EEGs, and other diagnostic testing as appropriate Document timely and accurate consultation and progress notes within the EMR Assist in the evaluation and management of acute neurological conditions including: Stroke and TIA Seizure disorders Altered mental status Headache syndromes Neuromuscular disorders Dizziness and gait disorders Movement disorders Care Coordination Communicate effectively with hospitalists, emergency room physicians, nursing staff, case management, rehabilitation teams, and consultants Assist with discharge planning and transition of care Facilitate outpatient neurology follow-up appointments when indicated at our offices. Practice Representation Serve as a professional representative of our practice within the hospital setting Promote strong relationships with referring physicians and hospital staff Help improve continuity of care and encourage appropriate outpatient neurology follow-up referrals Qualifications Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license Board certification as an Adult-Gerontology or Family Nurse Practitioner (preferred not required) Neurology experience preferred, but motivated candidates with strong inpatient/internal medicine backgrounds.
