Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as a Preceptor, guiding and mentoring future advanced practice nurses in the field of mental health. In this vital role, you will leverage your extensive clinical expertise to provide comprehensive psychiatric care, foster professional growth among trainees, and uphold the highest standards of patient-centered treatment. Your leadership will help shape the next generation of mental health providers, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver exceptional care across diverse settings. Responsibilities Serve as a clinical preceptor for PMHNP students, providing hands-on supervision and mentorship during their training rotations. Deliver expert psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment plans for patients across various age groups and settings. Guide trainees in developing proficiency in medication management, psychotherapy techniques, and holistic patient care approaches. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality and secure documentation practices. Facilitate learning by demonstrating proper medical documentation, accurate use of medical terminology, and thorough record-keeping within electronic health records. Share your physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology knowledge to enhance trainees' understanding of complex mental health conditions. Promote a culture of safety by adhering to infection control protocols and best practices in acute care, hospital, nursing home, and home care environments. Support trainees' development through structured training sessions focused on patient care strategies, medical records management, and professional ethics. Experience Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from an accredited certifying body. Proven clinical experience in diverse settings such as critical care units, hospitals, nursing homes, pediatrics, or home care environments. Extensive background in acute care psychiatry with exposure to ICU settings preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach or mentor nursing students or new practitioners within teaching hospital or academic environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards essential for effective teaching and patient care. Prior experience working with vulnerable populations including pediatric and adult patients is highly desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining confidentiality in medical records management.
