  • 8-hour shift with some flexibility, but within the Start/end times based on the facility operations
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations for adult female patients within a correctional healthcare setting Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines and facility protocols Provide primary care services including preventive care, health screenings, chronic disease management, and patient education Prescribe, administer, and monitor medications and treatment plans within the scope of licensure and DEA authorization Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies to support clinical decision-making Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, mental health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate continuity of care Respond to urgent medical situations, evaluate patient conditions, and initiate appropriate interventions or referrals when necessary Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic medical records, progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical documentation Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify care plans as clinically indicated Ensure compliance with Ohio nursing regulations, correctional healthcare standards, infection control policies, and patient confidentiality requirements Educate patients on disease prevention, medication compliance, nutrition, hygiene, and overall wellness strategies Participate in intake screenings, chronic care clinics, discharge planning, and follow-up care coordination Support quality improvement initiatives, risk management activities, and adherence to facility operational procedures Maintain current certifications, licensure, and credentialing requirements including BLS/CPR, board certification, and DEA registration Provide compassionate, culturally competent, and professional healthcare services while maintaining safety and security standards within the correctional environment
