Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities. Administer medications such as psychopharmacology agents with precision and adherence to best practices. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately. Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for diverse populations. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies. Experience Proven experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in outpatient or inpatient settings with exposure to behavioral health and acute care environments. Demonstrated knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Background in managing complex cases involving trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience), ICU or emergency medicine settings is advantageous. Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies related to mental health treatments and outcomes assessment. Skills in performing procedures such as suturing or IV infusion are a plus but not mandatory; emphasis is on comprehensive patient assessment and case management expertise.
