Job Description

Position Summary The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) functions as an advanced practice provider delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to neonates in a Level
III NICU.
In collaboration with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team, the NNP performs assessment, diagnosis, procedures, and ongoing management of neonates across acuity levels, ensuring safe transitions of care and family-centered support. The NNP plays a key role in overnight coverage with physician backup on-call, including responding to emergencies, leading resuscitations, and coordinating consultations. Position Qualifications Experience Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience as an RN or NNP is required however, new graduate NNPs with strong Level III practicum will be considered based on department readiness. III/IV NICU
as NNP is preferred Competence with neonatal procedures is preferred Experience with neonatal transport (intra
  • or inter-facility), telehealth consults, familiarity with performance improvement, LEAN methods, or clinical pathway development is preferred Education Master's or Doctorate in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner focus from an accredited program is required Certification/Licensure Current APRN licensure (or eligibility) as an NNP in the State of Oregon is required National certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (e.
g., NCC) is required
BLS:
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start NRP certification is required PALS certification is required
S.T.A.B.L.E.
certification is preferred Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
