Job Description

WILL CONSIDER LICENSURE CANDIDATES!
I wanted to reach out about a permanent Neonatal NP/PA opportunity in Portland, Oregon with Providence Women s and Children s Services. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, collaborative NICU team within a respected healthcare system. They are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA must be willing to obtain an OR license) who has completed a 12-month Neonatal PA/NP fellowship or residency program. In this role, you will provide clinical management of high-risk neonates and infants, support patient and family education, and work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to deliver high-quality, family-centered care. You will also have autonomy in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests to guide treatment plans. Coverage is split between Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Portland Medical Center, both Level III NICUs and teaching hospitals with strong support from Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB Hospitalist teams. While providers are primarily based at St. Vincent, they will also rotate to Portland Medical Center. St. Vincent (PSVMC): Higher acuity, smaller and sicker patient population Portland Medical Center (PPMC): Slightly lower acuity, typically longer shifts
Patient Volume:
22/day at St. Vincent, 10/day at
Portland Annual Deliveries:
3,000 at St. Vincent, 4,500 at Portland The team includes 13 Neonatal NPs, working in partnership with contracted neonatologists. NPs/PAs manage their own patients, provide unit-based support, attend high-volume deliveries, and perform procedures, while physicians conduct daily check-ins.
Schedule:
12- or 24-hour in-house shifts (7am 7pm or 7am 7am) PPMC shifts are typically 24 hours, though flexibility exists This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong NICU and delivery room experience who is looking to join a supportive, high-functioning team in a dynamic clinical environment. If you might be open to learning more, I d be happy to connect and share additional details.
