  • Contract Position Type Independent Contractor / Collaborative Clinical Education Role Position Summary Jade Health and Wellness is seeking experienced and professional Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) interested in mentoring and precepting nurse practitioner students within their outpatient or behavioral health practice setting.
This opportunity allows PMHNPs to support the education and development of future psychiatric providers while receiving a monthly preceptor stipend of $500 per student placed within their practice. Preceptors will provide clinical supervision, guidance, and educational support to PMHNP students completing clinical rotations in psychiatric and behavioral health settings. Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to PMHNP students during assigned clinical rotations Allow students to observe and participate in psychiatric evaluations, medication management visits, follow-up appointments, and interdisciplinary collaboration as appropriate Assist students in developing competency in: Psychiatric assessments Differential diagnosis Medication management Treatment planning Documentation and clinical decision-making Review and sign student clinical documentation when required by the academic institution Complete student evaluations and feedback forms required by the university or program Maintain professional, ethical, and HIPAA-compliant clinical teaching standards Foster a supportive and educational learning environment within the practice setting Communicate with academic faculty and Jade Health and Wellness regarding student progress or concerns Qualifications Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in the applicable state Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Minimum of 1-2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred Ability to provide a positive and structured educational experience Strong communication and leadership skills Outpatient psychiatry, community mental health, telehealth, addiction medicine, residential treatment, or integrated behavioral health experience preferred Current malpractice insurance coverage Compensation $500 per month per active student placement Flexible scheduling based on practice availability and student rotation requirements Opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future psychiatric providers Administrative support available for coordination of student placements and school documentation Clinical Settings May Include Outpatient behavioral health clinics Integrated primary care and psychiatric settings Telepsychiatry services Substance abuse treatment programs Residential behavioral health facilities Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) Ideal Candidate The ideal PMHNP preceptor is passionate about psychiatric education, enjoys mentoring future providers, and values advancing access to quality behavioral healthcare through clinical training and professional development
