Job Summary:
Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their team! The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is strongly committed to and promotes a strong belief in Adapt's philosophy, purpose and ideals. PMHNP's are responsible for conducting Psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, ordering and interpreting lab tests and other diagnostic data, diagnosing mental illness and developing and facilitating treatment plans. PMHNP's are responsible for evaluating the need for psychiatric medications and prescribing them when indicated.
Qualifications:
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid and unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse
  • Practitioners license by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Valid DEA license.
  • Obtain credentialing by designated credentialing agency.
  • CPR certification required.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and documents relevant psychiatric and medical history.
  • Formulates the appropriate differential diagnosis based on the history, psychiatric examination and clinical findings
  • Establishes a plan of care to achieve the identified health goals
  • Prescribes psychotropic medications and collaborates with the behavioral health team to facilitate appropriate medication monitoring and adherence.
  • Completes timely and appropriate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPPA regulations.
  • Demonstrates respect and sensitivity to cultural/social differences in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skill, using sound judgement.
  • Meets and promotes organizational standards for excellence in service for patients, staff and physicians.
  • Provides patient education through handouts and discussion of patient concerns during office visits. Instructs patient/family regarding medication and treatment directions
  • Responds to medication refill requests, and patient/authorized caregiver questions outside of office visits with assistance of medical assistance.
  • Maintains licensure and certification necessary to provide their spectrum of clinical care.
  • Promote a Culture of Safety; reporting hazards, errors and potential patient safety issues.
