SUMMARY OF POSITION
Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center's Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Service Line is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to primarily provide inpatient psychiatric consultation services throughout the hospital. We are recruiting for a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Candidates with experience in Addiction Medicine, substance use disorder treatment, or dual-diagnosis psychiatric care are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Pennsylvania and have a minimum of two to three years of experience providing psychiatric and/or behavioral health care. Experience evaluating and managing patients with substance use disorders, co-occurring psychiatric conditions, and complex behavioral health needs is preferred. Responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations and consultations, developing treatment plans, providing medication management, and collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide inpatient and telehealth services at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and other Penn State Health sites as needed while working within an established and collaborative behavioral health team. The Nurse Practitioner functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team and provides comprehensive patient care services across the continuum of behavioral health. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, patient and family education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Practitioner will practice within the scope of responsibilities and prescriptive authority defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and Penn State Health Medical Staff Bylaws.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
(S): Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required. Two (2) years' work experience as a RN required. Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
(S): Minimum of two to three years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience Certification in Addiction Medicine (e.g., CARN-AP) and/or experience treating substance use disorders is preferred Experience in Addiction Medicine, substance use disorder treatment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), or dual-diagnosis psychiatric care. Experience providing inpatient psychiatric consultation services.
