Nursing Full Job Description Nurse Practitioner A Child's Place, PA Pittsburgh, PA SUMMARY:
The mission of A Child's Place, PA is to improve the health, safety, and well-being of children, particularly those at risk for abuse and neglect. We are currently seeking a compassionate, and professional, nurse practitioner, experienced in child abuse medicine. The nurse practitioner will be responsible for the medical evaluation, care, and diagnosis/treatment of children with suspected sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect. This care will be provided at our main office (Allegheny County) and travel to our satellite sites (Westmoreland, Beaver, Washington, Butler, Greene, and Fayette Counties) is required. Additional duties include providing clinical consultation to partnering agencies and multi-disciplinary team members, coordinating care with families, team, and partnering agencies, providing child abuse education to the community, and providing court testimony as required. Limited on call will also be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive trauma-focused care to child victims of suspected sexual assault, physical abuse, and/or neglect. Conduct forensic exams, obtain forensic specimen collection and complete supportive documentation, including photographic documentation. May provide expert testimony in a criminal or civil trial if a case goes to court, understands the ethical obligations and limitations of their testimony. Gather a culturally and developmentally appropriate medical history and a history of the assault, with an essential understanding of the medical and legal implications of both. Assess the patient's emotional state & determine if further evaluation or treatment is necessary. Coordinate referrals for proper follow-up care as needed. Conduct chart reviews. Deliver child abuse trainings to community partners. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Actively Licensed Pediatric or Family CRNP (Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner) in Pennsylvania. A minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a pediatric setting. SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Certification preferred. Demonstrated understanding of childhood growth and development. Demonstrated knowledge and use of a colposcope. Must have a telephone, reliable transportation, and possess a current PA Driver's License or State issued ID. Must possess ability to deal with graphic, detailed descriptions of child abuse on a daily basis. Must be able to work well independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent listening skills, treating all patients with respect and sensitivity. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Ability to work as a member of various teams and committees. Acute attention to detail.

Must submit to a thorough criminal history/background check Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid PA driver's license and proof of insurance as position does require daily and weekly travel to satellite sites. Must be available for limited on call
