Job description Company Description We are a dually licensed outpatient program in Cherry Hill, NJ providing Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services to individuals in need of mental health and substance abuse services. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Dual Diagnosis Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between behavioral health and medical care, ensuring patients receive holistic, person-centered support. Hours We are looking for someone to be available to come on site 1 day a week and be able to do psychiatric evaluations and follow ups on an as needed basis throughout the week. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and physical assessments to identify co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, therapy referrals, and supportive interventions. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care strategies. Administer medications, including controlled substances, following state regulations and clinical protocols. Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, medication adherence, and relapse prevention strategies. Maintain accurate, detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders in settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or assisted living facilities. Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles combined with medical-surgical nursing expertise. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management. Skilled in medication administration, IV infusion techniques, suturing, and sterile processing procedures. Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing and documentation purposes. Experience in crisis intervention, triage assessments, acute pain management, and inpatient/outpatient care environments. Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychopharmacology and pain management therapies. Additional desirable skills include experience with telehealth services, hospice & palliative medicine practices, working with children or geriatrics populations, hospital medicine including ICU or trauma center experience, infectious disease care protocols, and familiarity with Workers' Compensation law or utilization review processes.
