Mid Level Provider- Behavioral Health and Addiction - Psych NP or PA-C

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Behavioral Health and Addiction to join our dedicated healthcare team in our McMinnville and Murfreesboro offices. We are currently looking for a part time provider who has the ability to work two full non-consecutive in-office days per week with more hours available if desired with full time opportunities likely. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals struggling with mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between primary care and specialized behavioral health services, ensuring patients receive comprehensive support in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including mental health evaluations, substance use history, and risk assessments to inform treatment plans. Provide evidence-based interventions such as counseling, medication management, and crisis intervention for behavioral health and addiction issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address physical, emotional, and social needs. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Athenahealth to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Educate patients and their families about treatment options, medication adherence, relapse prevention, and community resources. Assist with triage duties by prioritizing urgent cases and coordinating referrals for specialized services such as detoxification or inpatient care. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of all patient information while adhering to clinical protocols. Qualifications Current licensure or certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA) Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals in assisted living or nursing homes, and those with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of behavioral health conditions, substance use disorders, medication management—including psychopharmacology—and crisis intervention techniques. Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for documentation and billing purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
