St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center - Massena Wellness Center is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry to provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented behavioral health services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry, you will utilize a range of psychosocial interventions and therapy methods including:
  • Providing psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, treatments, and medication management.
  • Establishing individual goals and treatment objectives.
  • Prescribing medications and treatments, monitoring impact, and modifying as needed.
  • Maintaining medical records and documentation.
Minimum QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry if they have certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in the Psychiatry specialty practice area by the New York State Education Department. OR Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Preferred qualifications of one year experience in Nurse Practitioner in a Psychiatric Environment. Additional CommentsAll OMH employees receive a generous benefits package including:

Posted Salary is the sum the statutory job rate for PS&T Grade 24 ($115,252), and a Geographic Differential ($25,000).
