Job Description
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Wavecrest Behavioral Health is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care for clients receiving treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. This is a contracted position with flexible scheduling. Hybrid candidates are preferred. Compensation $100-$150 per hour 20% of monthly personal billables Flexible schedule About Wavecrest Behavioral Health Wavecrest Behavioral Health provides evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Through our PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs, we strive to provide an easily understandable approach to complex mental health and addiction issues while delivering compassionate, client-centered care. Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments Diagnose and treat mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up services Develop, review, and update treatment recommendations Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and clinical staff to support client care Provide consultation regarding psychiatric treatment and medication management Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Participate in treatment team meetings as needed Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, ethical, and professional standards Qualifications Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license Active DEA registration Ability to provide psychiatric services to clients in California Experience treating mental health and substance use disorders preferred Experience working with co-occurring disorders preferred Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) Preferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, PHP, IOP, or outpatient settings Hybrid availability preferred Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary treatment team Work Environment Work may be performed in-office and remotely. Candidates should be comfortable utilizing telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and collaborating with clinical staff in a hybrid environment.
