Position Summary Mindfully Mended Psychiatry is seeking a Contract Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing practice on a 1099 basis . The ideal candidate provides high-quality patient-centered psychiatric care, including evaluations, medication management, follow-up appointments, and collaborative decision-making with the supervising psychiatrist. This position is best suited for a PMHNP seeking a practice within a supportive, structured, and relationship-focused private practice environment. Role & Responsibilities Clinical Care & Stewardship Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adolescents and adults (age range flexible). Develop individualized treatment plans based on best practices and diagnostic findings. Provide ongoing medication management and therapeutic support. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation (within 24 hours). Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Patient Experience Build strong therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy, trust, and clinical clarity. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, medication risks/benefits, and expectations. Communicate consistently and proactively with patients regarding follow-up and care continuity. Demonstrate trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental care practices. Compliance & Precision Ensure adherence to state and federal guidelines, ethical standards, and practice protocols. Utilize EMR systems effectively for charting, messaging, and report creation. Maintain compliance with DEA regulations and prescribing standards. Participate in quality-improvement efforts to support safety, consistency, and clinical excellence. Collaboration & Professional Growth Communicate effectively with the supervising psychiatrist and clinical leadership. Participate in case discussions or consultations as needed. Engage in ongoing professional development, education, or certifications relevant to psychiatric care. Stay informed about new research, treatment modalities, and best practices in mental health. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Documentation completion within 24 hours Patient satisfaction and retention Adherence to treatment protocols and evidence-based standards Professional development: trainings, CME, or advanced learning annually Schedule utilization and clinical efficiency Required Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and psychopharmacology Excellent written and verbal communication skills Empathic, patient-centered clinical approach Ability to work independently within a supportive team structure Strong organizational skills and time management Comfortable with EMR documentation and digital communication Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program Current & unrestricted
PMHNP-BC
license in Texas Active DEA registration Minimum 1-2 years of psychiatric experience (preferred) Comfortable treating both medication-management and therapy-informed cases Reliable transportation to the Burleson office Authorized to work in the U.S. Ability to provide services as an independent contractor (1099) Adequate private workspace for occasional remote administrative tasks Compensation Compensation for this contract role is based on a percentage split, with the clinician receiving a % of billable and collected services.
