is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing outpatient mental health practice. This is a part-time W2 position with a minimum of 20 hours per week. The position is hiring now, with the anticipated start date dependent on completion of credentialing through insurance. This role is primarily in person, with some opportunity for virtual visits or work-from-home flexibility based on clinical needs, credentialing, and provider independence. Flexible scheduling may be available for self-motivated individuals who are able to manage their time, documentation, and patient care responsibilities effectively. At Paradigm, we believe mental health care should feel human, thorough, and individualized. We do not believe in rushed 15-minute medication checks. Our providers take time to listen, understand the whole person, and provide thoughtful medication management, therapy-informed care, and meaningful support. We are looking for someone who is passionate about mental health, down-to-earth, personable, LGBTQ-friendly, and comfortable working with patients with substance use concerns. Experience in mental health is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply if they are motivated, eager to learn, and committed to growing in the psychiatric field. Our ideal candidate is an avid learner, clinically curious, able to self-manage, and genuinely interested in helping patients make real progress. The provider should be open to offering both medication management and therapy-based interventions as part of patient care. A major benefit of this position is access to an active collaborating psychiatrist who meets regularly with PMHNPs and provides ongoing support, consultation, and collaboration. Paradigm values provider autonomy and does not believe in micromanaging, while still offering clinical support and structure when needed. Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management Offer therapy-informed interventions and supportive counseling as appropriate See patients in person, with some opportunity for virtual care Work with individuals across a range of mental health conditions Provide care to patients with substance use concerns when clinically appropriate Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner Collaborate with therapists, nurse practitioners, physicians, and other care team members Participate in regular collaboration with the supervising/collaborating psychiatrist Maintain professional, ethical, and patient-centered care Qualifications Licensed Nurse Practitioner in Michigan, (will consider FNPs who are enrolled in PMHNP program) Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification preferred/required as applicable Mental health experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply (at least 5 years as an RN required for new graduates) Comfortable working with substance use disorder populations LGBTQ-friendly and culturally informed Strong communication and documentation skills Able to work independently without frequent micromanagement Open to continued learning, feedback, and clinical growth Ideal Candidate The right person for this role is grounded, compassionate, self-directed, and genuinely passionate about changing lives through mental health care. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team that values quality over volume, autonomy over micromanagement, and real therapeutic connection over rushed appointments.
