Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to diverse patient populations. As a PMHNP, you will be at the forefront of mental health care, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in various settings including outpatient clinics and telehealth platforms. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history and mental status examinations, to develop individualized care plans. Prescribe and manage medications using evidence-based practices, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes. Provide psychotherapy sessions utilizing various modalities tailored to patient needs, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or supportive counseling. Collaborate closely with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care. Monitor treatment progress through ongoing evaluations and adjust medications or interventions accordingly. Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) system, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to promote recovery and wellness. Requirements Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from an accredited program Must have an ANCC . Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with prescriptive authority. Demonstrated experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and management of complex cases involving behavioral health and acute pain management. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering care via telemedicine modalities. Experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding for billing purposes, and ICD coding systems like ICD-10 for accurate documentation. Skills in case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and working within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient environments. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance. $105,020.28 - $155,379.27 per year
