Position Summary The compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides outpatient psychiatric care in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive mental health care services to a low to moderate acuity patient population. The PMHNP delivers high-quality, evidence-based care through psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and medication management in both in-person and telehealth settings. This role offers a flexible schedule in a hybrid work model. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations Provide ongoing medication management Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Deliver brief supportive or CBT therapy and/or coordinate psychotherapy referrals Maintain a consistent schedule of patient-facing clinical hours per contract Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly Provide psychoeducation to patients and families Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and care team members Coordinate referrals to higher levels of care when needed Comply with guidelines and contract with Collaborating Physician in Virginia Complete all documentation in a timely manner tied to patient encounters Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all federal/state regulations Utilize EHR efficiently for scheduling and charting Assess and manage psychiatric crises and risk Coordinate emergency care when necessary Provide telehealth services in accordance with Virginia regulations
Schedule and Productivity Expectations Full-time:
33 - 36 patient-facing clinical hours per week Visit structure: Patients will be scheduled as follows New patient Intakes 90 minutes Follow-up visits 30 minutes Required Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program Completion of a PMHNP program and certification Active, unrestricted Virginia NP license Board certification as PMHNP Active DEA registration Virginia Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) Outpatient psychiatry experience preferred Core Competencies Strong diagnostic and medication management skills Efficient time management within a structured visit model Excellent communication and patient rapport Ability to work independently in a small practice setting as well as in a collaborative team environment Comfort with telehealth and EHR systems Additional Requirements Willingness to provide both in-person and telehealth services per agreed upon schedule Must work a minimum of 2 days in-person weekly Participation in occasional administrative practice meetings Successful completion of credentialing and background check

$140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
