Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and risk assessments. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, utilizing your knowledge of psychopharmacology and clinical guidelines. Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with your collaborative physician and agency therapists to coordinate holistic patient care. Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment strategies as needed for optimal outcomes. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication use, and coping strategies to empower self-management. Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Requirements Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid state licensure. Proven experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication management and side effect monitoring. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (Simple Practice) Experience working in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or assisted living facilities with a focus on mental health care. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and utilize diagnostic tools effectively. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations including HIPAA. Preferred qualifications include experience in acute care environments such as ICU or trauma centers; familiarity with telehealth platforms; expertise in crisis intervention; and additional training in areas like trauma-informed care or substance use disorders. Candidates would be respectful of and comfortable working within a faith-informed (Catholic) clinical practice while supporting clients of all beliefs.
