Job Description

Joy Spring Mental Health is an integrative psychiatry practice serving clients across North Carolina via telehealth, with in-person appointments available in Boone, Hendersonville, and West Jefferson, NC. Our practice delivers comprehensive psychiatric care that combines psychotherapy with medication management and holistic interventions focused on root-cause healing. The Role This is a full-time (30 hours/week) production-based PMHNP position with a hybrid schedule. You will carry your own caseload and deliver integrated care that combines psychotherapy with psychiatric medication management. Joy Spring provides infrastructure (Charm EHR, AI-assisted documentation, scheduling support, and referral pipeline) and clinical consultation so you can focus on delivering the comprehensive care you were trained to provide. Your clinical focus will center on providing comprehensive psychiatric care: Conduct psychiatric and psychosocial assessments using a trauma-informed, whole-person approach Provide both psychotherapy and medication management in longer appointment sessions Incorporate functional lab testing, psychoeducation, and lifestyle interventions into treatment plans Utilize trauma-specific therapeutic modalities (EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, ACT, Somatic Experiencing) Facilitate group therapy sessions as desired Collaborate with outside therapists when clients are already established in therapy elsewhere This role emphasizes depth over volume . Smaller caseloads and longer appointments allow you to build real therapeutic relationships and address root causes rather than just managing symptoms. We focus on minimizing polypharmacy through thoughtful, evidence-based prescribing combined with lifestyle and functional medicine interventions. What You'll Do Maintain a caseload with flexible hours (30-40 per week), with a mix of telehealth and in-office delivery (1 day/week in office minimum) Develop individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans that integrate psychotherapy and medication management Document sessions in Charm EHR with AI-assisted documentation support Specialize in your preferred populations and clinical niche Participate in regular clinical consultation, team meetings, and peer support Maintain active DEA registration and comply with North Carolina controlled substance reporting requirements
Qualifications Required:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with active PMHNP-C certification through AANP or ANCC Active, unrestricted North Carolina RN and APRN licensure Active DEA registration North Carolina residency required 3+ years of experience as a
PMHNP OR
completion of our PMHNP Employment Readiness Training Program (required for new graduates with <12 months experience or those without prior training in integrative psychiatry and trauma-informed psychotherapy) Comfortable with hybrid service delivery (telehealth and in-office) Able to work independently while collaborating within a supportive team
Preferred:
Dual certification preferred (FNP/PMHNP or
WHNP/PMHNP

Note:
