POSITION SUMMARY
The part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will address the behavioral health needs of clients by conducting psychiatric evaluation, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses current evidence-based practice, research and clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications. Conducts mental health histories and assessments. Formulates behavioral health treatment plan and manages acute and chronic mental health needs. Maintains clients' records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress. Document in accordance with all regulatory requirements made by licensing and third-party agencies. Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in nursing. Graduation from accredited master's level Nurse Practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatry. Licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner in Connecticut.
