Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will prefer a smaller more family-oriented office environment and can provide high-quality mental health care to patients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions. This role requires a strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide medication management, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications. Perform medical procedures as necessary, including IV insertion and catheter care. Engage in emergency medicine practices when required, ensuring patient safety and stability. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric care practices. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and enhance treatment outcomes. Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options. Assist in triage processes for patients requiring immediate attention. Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent licensure. Proficiency in medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR). Experience in emergency medicine is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to perform laboratory tests as needed for patient assessment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
