Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) Outpatient Full-time KindMind Behavioral Health - Rochester, MI Hybrid (on-site & telehealth) https://kindmindbh.com/ Who We Are KindMind Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health therapy and psychiatry practice in Rochester and Clarkston, Michigan treating patients struggling with a wide variety of mental health concerns. Our mission is to alleviate the mental health epidemic by bringing greater mental healthcare access to a community that is so critically underserved. We are committed to our patients and are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and professional outpatient therapy and medication management services that are centered upon our patients' needs. Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced psychiatric Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner that shares our passion and aligns with our mission. The responsibilities of the prescriber include: Assess and evaluate psychiatric diagnoses, develop and apply treatment plans, prescribe and manage medications, and complete patient documentation per practice guidelines/requirements. Provide follow-up care to monitor medication efficacy and patient progress Provide psychoeducation and medication education to patients and/or families Answer patient questions between appointments related to treatment plans, side effects, refill requests, etc. As needed, collaborate with the Medical Director and coordinate with patient families, friends, colleagues, medical professionals, school resources, or other staff related to specific patient cases. Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare providers as needed for coordination or care Exercise ethical conduct with all clinical responsibilities. Attend group staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with the Medical Director + other live or virtual clinical meetings/trainings. Maintain compliance with the practice's policies and procedures, the applicable regulatory bodies, and clinical documentation requirements. Consistently provide exceptional patient care clinically and professionally in working towards achieving our mission. The prescriber will be supported by the Medical Director, Medical Assistant, and office staff in executing these functions. Qualifications 1. Active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of Michigan. 2. Valid DEA number registered in the state of Michigan. 3. Minimum one (1) year of experience in the field of psychiatry. Skills & Experience Ideal applicants should have a general understanding of outpatient psychiatry services, community resources, and general knowledge of behavioral health documentation Proficient diagnostic and prescribing capabilities and experience in developing and completing treatment plans Proficient with standard clinic technology (email, phone, computer) and the ability to learn and use an Electronic Health Records system Ability to record detailed, clear, and organized patient notes and other required documentation in a timely manner Ability to integrate client history with current symptoms and external factors to develop an appropriate diagnosis and plan of care Ability to adhere to clinic and industry policies and procedures Effective interpersonal, communication, and listening skills Proficiency in exercising crisis intervention methods Willingness to welcome training and feedback to learn to work autonomously Effective written and verbal communication skills + time management and organizational skills Can demonstrate appropriate boundaries with patients Compensation Competitive compensation fee split Health insurance benefits (medical + vision) Malpractice insurance CEU coverage W2
