In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to a diverse patient population. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes, promote recovery, and enhance overall well-being across various clinical settings. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with careful attention to medication interactions, side effects, and efficacy. Implement evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychopharmacology, and other modalities tailored to individual needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and case management strategies. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress. Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for remote or underserved populations. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and coping skills. Experience Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP-BC or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in managing complex cases involving acute pain management, substance use disorders, dementia care, and memory care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar platforms for medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Experience working in various clinical environments including outpatient clinics, hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), inpatient units, or assisted living facilities. Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication administration protocols for psychiatric conditions. Skills in patient assessment, triage procedures, crisis intervention, and utilization review processes.
