Job Description

As a part of our dedicated staff, you will be a part of innovative programs and services taking a proactive approach to fighting addition and drug misuse in our schools, businesses, and neighborhoods. We tailor our programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve. Our prevention, intervention and treatment programs spread the message that there is hope and that substance misuse and addiction are preventable and treatable. The Nurse Practitioner - MOUD position's primary duty is to perform work requiring the advanced knowledge acquired during a Nurse Practitioner course of instruction; and requires the incumbent to consistently exercise discretion and judgement in applying their advanced knowledge. They will provide medical services including medical evaluation and prescribing of buprenorphine or other medication assisted treatments for LRADAC patients and perform other professional medical duties as needed. Position Logistics Part-time up to 15 hours per week Monday - Friday; Hours scheduled based on patient need and supervisor approval.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
includes the following. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Conduct medical evaluations and physical examinations on all new patients seeking medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Assessing pre-existing medical conditions and appropriateness for medication assisted treatment. Establish treatment protocols for medication assisted treatment, and order appropriate treatment for opioid and/or alcohol use disorders, to include prescribing medication. Complete appropriate medical documentation within the electronic health record. Conduct established patient evaluations in accordance with best practices to assess for continued appropriateness of care, the need to adjust medication dosage, and compliance with additional substance use disorder treatment recommendations.
MARGINAL DUTIES
(5%) includes the following: Attends all required meetings and training sessions. Other duties as assigned. All training requirements (online and in-person) completed on time.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education with licensure to practice in South Carolina DEA Controlled Prescription Certification Waiver to prescribe buprenorphine including Prescriptive Authority certification Please complete the online application to include all current and previous employment history and education.
