PRIMARY CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER
(NP) / PHYSICIAN
ASSOCIATE
(PA)
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Advanced Practice Clinician (NP/PA) who can deliver primary medical care to a wide variety of patients. The NP/PA will be responsible for caring for patients from newborns through geriatrics, maintaining accurate and current patient records and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required. The successful candidate will work with a team to assist in delivering world class primary care to each and every patient.
Responsibilities:
Perform initial patient screenings, patient history, physical examinations, and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines in accordance with established practice guidelines. Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs Record physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition Review lab, x-ray, and emergency reports daily Determine the need for patient follow-up appointments and further treatment options Refer patients for specialist services, as needed Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions Discusses and coordinates with other internal health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related therapeutic procedures Treat acute diseases such as routine viral illnesses, UTIs, and other infections Treat and manage chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes Cooperate with operational initiatives for improvement of clinical operations Provides supervision to ancillary medical staff. Supervise daily staff communication Participate in special screening, training, and community outreach activities periodically Participate in cooperative arrangements with other health providers in the area Perform all other medically-related assigned duties Agree to see "walk-ins" on short notice, as needed and as possible, such as to fill empty time slots on the schedule created by "no-shows" and to promote patient access to care
Qualifications and Experience:
Appropriate clinical experience (preferably in Primary Care) New graduates will also be considered Valid Tennessee State License Ability to be a team player Strong written and interpersonal communication skills Pass drug testing/screening, background checks, and reference checks
Physical Requirements:
Requires considerable physical effort most of the day. Requires squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, walking, lifting supplies and sitting for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements:
Must be able to make sound judgment based on assessment and data available and act accordingly. Must be able to be flexible, innovative, and work independently. Must possess skills for computer usage and written and oral communication. Must possess good interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize multiple functions or tasks; and must have tolerance for unpredictable circumstances and usual stress of coping with the human nature of staff and patients. We offer student loan repayment programs for both NP and PA candidates through existing federal programs due to our status as a Rural Health Clinic. We offer competitive compensation and aim to keep our current clinician staff above median average. Position is Full Time/Open to Candidates also who prefer 2-3 days per week.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
