Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our integrative mental health team. This position focuses on helping individuals struggling with conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, addiction, and trauma-related challenges through a balanced approach that combines evidence-based psychiatric care with integrative and biologically supportive treatments . The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing psychiatry through both traditional pharmacologic management and progressive mental health approaches , including therapeutic deprescribing, nutritional and metabolic support, and innovative treatments such as ketamine therapy. This role begins part-time on-site with the option to transition into a full-time position based on provider interest and clinic growth. Key Responsibilities Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnosis Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans Diagnose and treat a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, addiction, and trauma-related disorders Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust care plans based on patient response Medication Management Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications when clinically indicated Evaluate medication efficacy, side effects, and long-term impact on neurological and metabolic health Utilize thoughtful prescribing practices that prioritize patient safety and long-term functional recovery Deprescribing & Medication Optimization Evaluate patients currently taking psychiatric medications and assess opportunities for safe and structured deprescribing when appropriate Develop tapering plans to reduce unnecessary or ineffective medications Support patients through medication transitions while maintaining symptom stability and patient safety Emphasize restoration of physiologic balance, neuroplasticity, and long-term resilience Integrative & Biological Mental Health Approaches Prescribe and guide the use of natural supplements and nootropics when appropriate to support cognitive health, mood stability, and neurological function Incorporate metabolic and nutritional strategies into treatment planning Advanced Therapeutic Services Evaluate and manage patients receiving: Ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and related conditions Spravato® (esketamine) therapy under established protocols Vitamin infusion therapy designed to support neurological and metabolic health Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the clinical team during treatment programs Collaborative Care Work alongside nurses, therapists, and support staff to provide coordinated care Educate patients on treatment options, medication risks/benefits, and integrative approaches Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all regulatory and professional standards Qualifications Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Psychiatrist Active state license and DEA registration Experience in psychiatric evaluation and medication management Interest in integrative psychiatry, functional mental health, or neurobiological treatment approaches Experience with ketamine therapy, Spravato, or infusion-based treatments preferred (training may be provided) Strong communication skills and patient-centered care philosophy Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate believes mental health care should extend beyond symptom suppression and should focus on long-term neurological healing, resilience, and restoration of function . They are comfortable integrating traditional psychiatric tools with nutritional, metabolic, and innovative therapies that support brain health and recovery.
