Advanced Practice Provider- Oncology University of Tennessee Medical Center - 3.7 Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork Diagnostic radiology Outpatient End-of-life care Advanced practice provider Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our outpatient medical oncology team. This provider will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment, working collaboratively with oncologists and a multidisciplinary team to manage complex oncologic conditions across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and symptom evaluation Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans in collaboration with supervising oncologists Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies Manage treatment-related toxicities and oncologic emergencies in the outpatient setting Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, social work, and other multidisciplinary team members Participate in survivorship care planning and end-of-life discussions when appropriate Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations Qualifications NP or PA. Required 2 years experience preferred.
