Memphis Clinic provides comprehensive HIV treatment, HIV prevention services (PrEP and PEP), STI diagnosis and treatment, hepatitis management, and primary sexual health services in a welcoming and affirming clinical environment. JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing
CARES 360
Memphis clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive outpatient care focused on HIV treatment, HIV prevention, STI management, and sexual health services for diverse patient populations. This role will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that includes a medical director, other midlevel providers, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, behavioral health providers, and community outreach staff. The provider will play an important role in expanding access to care, supporting rapid treatment initiation, and delivering affirming, patient-centered healthcare services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide outpatient clinical care for individuals seeking HIV treatment, HIV prevention services (PrEP and PEP), STI evaluation and treatment, hepatitis C management, and sexual health services.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and assessments.
  • Diagnose and clinically manage HIV, sexually transmitted infections, chronic hepatitis C, and other common outpatient medical conditions within scope of practice.
  • Initiate and monitor HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
  • Support rapid antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation for patients who are newly diagnosed with HIV.
  • Provide portions of clinical care through telemedicine visits, including follow-up care, HIV prevention services, and chronic disease management.
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing in a timely fashion.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines and Tennessee licensure requirements.
  • Provide patient education on HIV prevention, treatment adherence, hepatitis C care, sexual health, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the medical director, nursing staff, social services, behavioral health, pharmacy, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and clinic growth efforts.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee. DEA license and prescriptive authority required. Experience in HIV medicine, infectious diseases, sexual health, primary care, public health, or community health strongly preferred.
Strongly preferred:
American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) certification. Knowledge of HIV prevention strategies including PrEP and PEP strongly preferred. Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently within scope of practice. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations. Commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed, and affirming care.
