We're looking for a licensed Primary Care Physician to join a supportive team in Taylor County, Texas for a full-time, short-term contract (minimum three months). You'll be seeing a manageable caseload and delivering hands-on primary care in a clinic setting with a 16-bed infirmary. This role is ideal if you enjoy steady weekday hours, occasional on-call coverage, and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Quick facts

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PM Call:
Every 6th weekday (5:00 PM-8:00 AM) and one weekend on call every 6 weeks
Start:
As soon as you're available Patient load: Caseload of 35-45 patients (typically no more than 10 clinic visits per day) What we're looking for MD or DO with a current Texas medical license in good standing (no sanctions) Active DEA, NPI, and current CPR/BLS certifications Ability to meet all agency and facility onboarding requirements before starting Experience managing acute and chronic medical conditions Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred Familiarity with electronic health records—Cerner experience is a plus Prior experience in a State Hospital or SSLC is advantageous What you'll do Manage a caseload of 35-45 patients, usually seeing ≤10 per day in clinic Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions Perform primary care visits, follow-ups, and infirmary evaluations for illnesses and injuries Complete annual and interval medical assessments and document care clearly in the EHR Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate care with staff Provide on-call coverage every 6th weekday (phone coverage expected; rare return to campus) and one weekend on call every 6 weeks Carry out weekend/holiday infirmary rounds as needed Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and facility operations If you're comfortable with a predictable weekday schedule, reasonable patient volume, and collaborative care in a state facility setting, this could be a great short-term opportunity to make an immediate impact.
