Position Overview:
CHRISTUS
Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Cardiovascular department at
CHRISTUS
Spohn Hospital-Shoreline. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to assigned patients under the direction of a physician, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CV ICU and acute Inpatient CV Units. Act as a first assist in CV Surgery cases in the Operating Room. Vein harvesting experience preferred. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices to give patient care directions to nursing and other staff. Evaluate the outcomes of direct patient care and consult with specialists as necessary. Adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes and provide the highest standard of care. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered for patients. Monitor and ensure the accuracy of patient medical records. Provide preventative health care services to long-term patients and coordinate consultations and referrals as required. Perform physical exams and prescribe treatments and medications within scope of practice.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced Nursing Degree or Master's Degree required. Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or PA license. Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), American Heart Association. Experience in the specialty area (CV
ICU, CV OR
). Experience in both clinical and management areas. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and market services effectively. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong team-oriented approach and interdepartmental collaboration based on CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) principles. Why Join
