Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/ Certified Physician Assistant with experience in pediatrics to join our dynamic outpatient clinic team. We are the only pediatric epilepsy clinic in the El Paso region and our patients come from as far away as Deming, Alamogordo and Carlsbad. You will be needed, and will make a difference in patients' and families' lives every day. 32-hour work week (off Wednesday) Outpatient clinic No on-call requirements Vacation​: 3 weeks of paid vacation Salary commensurate with experience
IMPORTANT
on-the-job training can take 12-18 months. We are only seeking candidates looking for a long term position. Responsibilities Provide epilepsy care to pediatric patients (neonates through young adults) ​ Diagnose and treat epilepsy syndromes.​ Conduct physical examinations and order diagnostic tests.​ Take a detailed history and perform physical examinations Educate patients and their families on epilepsy and treatment.​ Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.​ Educate patients and their families on epilepsy and treatment.​ Work together with MD and NP to respond to patient phone calls and portal messages Keep detailed documentation of all patient encounters (in clinic or over the phone or portal) Qualifications No neurology experience needed Spanish Speaker Fast and eager learner (on-the job training and heavy supervision will be available at all times) Independant Training and experience in pediatrics (outpatient pediatric subspecialty experience a plus) Ability to work with individuals with chronic conditions and developmental disabilities.​ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to stay focused despite interruptions (you will be sharing an office with one other NP.) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Efficient and thorough documentation Attention to details The El Paso Center for Seizures and Epilepsy believes all children with seizures and epilepsy should receive excellent, specialized neurologic care.
