Katy Rheumatology and Associates is seeking a full-time, licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant interested in joining our rapidly growing, busy Rheumatology practice. We are looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in delivering high quality, compassionate patient care and building rapport with chronic disease patients. Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills are required. Rheumatology experience is preferred, but not required as work ethic, independent thinking, and willingness to learn take precedence. This position is most ideal for a professional looking for a long-term position in a team oriented, friendly work environment with endless growth potential. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview, and examination on new and established patients under the supervision of a physician. Order and Interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKG's etc.) Diagnose and Propose treatments for autoimmune and arthritic diseases Prescribe medications Performs invasive procedures specific to scope of practice and competency of the provider as delegated by supervising Physician. Maintain accurate records and schedules Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications. Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics, and prevention. Oversee patients' overall health Promote good health practices Advance professional knowledge and conduct research Refer to specialists as needed Collaborate with attending physician as needed May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs of the department.
JOB REQUIREMTNS SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Degree from an accredited NP or PA Program Texas NP or PA license Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting Expertise in primary care and chronic care practices Knowledge of health and patient care regulations Excellent communication skills Strong ethics Team spirit with a positive attitude Patience and cool headedness Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience. Valid license and Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) Medical Spanish is a plus
