Clinical documentation Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pain Management to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will help improve patient quality of life through innovative pain management strategies, including medication administration, procedural interventions, and holistic care approaches. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes and well-being. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories focused on pain-related conditions. Develop personalized pain management plans utilizing pharmacologic treatments such as injections, IV infusions, botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, and other advanced modalities. Perform procedural interventions including suturing, spinal taps, catheterizations, and sterile techniques to alleviate pain and improve function. Collaborate with physicians, specialists in anesthesiology or physical therapy, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care plans. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on pain management options, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching to promote self-management. Stay current with clinical research developments in pain medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care. Qualifications Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in Pain Management or related specialty preferred. Demonstrated experience with acute pain management procedures such as spinal taps, IV infusions, catheter care, and dermal filler administration. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology—including CPT coding for procedures—and diagnostic evaluation techniques such as sonography or laboratory testing. Experience working in diverse settings such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center), outpatient clinics, urgent care centers or nursing homes. Critical care experience including ICU or emergency room settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with complex medical documentation standards like
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding; understanding of Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges preferred.
