Genesis is seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist to join our busy medical practice in the Houston area . The oncologist will be responsible for monitoring the patient and organizing imaging and other tests in order to create and execute a management plan for our patients. The physician will work with our medical specialists as part of a team caring for our patients with cancer and will work closely with our nursing staff to plan and deliver chemotherapy. This physician will be responsible for providing complete, comprehensive clinical care for our patients including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care, preventative and health care maintenance. The oncologist will work collaboratively with all of our providers as a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive, compassionate health care to our patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose and develop treatment plans with the patient. Management of all acute and chronic illnesses. Provide health education and counseling and establish preventative health practices. Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessary. Implement clinical policies with other members of our management team. Responsible for supervision of assigned or other advanced practice providers, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Maintain a current Texas Medical License and all other licenses needed to provide care in the medical practice. Provide case management with other healthcare team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Texas Medical License Valid DEA License Board Certification BLS and ACLS certification Ability to work collaboratively with a clinical team Demonstrate professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct resolution skills Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients Genesis is a tobacco-free employer.
