Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments and physical exams of patients with cardiovascular conditions after cardiovascular surgery. Manage and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team in the care-planning and management of post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients. Familiarity with and management of vasoactive infusions including titration of vasopressors and management of cardiogenic shock with inotropic infusions. Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests. Provide critical care support including management of mechanical ventilation and mechanical circulatory support (MCS). Responsible for bedside procedures including arterial line placement, central line placement, pigtail thoracostomy tube placement, and intubation. Minimum Qualifications Required Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Preferred Certification inACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS
may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Utah State prescriptive privileges. Licensure is obtained by completing a Master's degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master's degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.UHPPM 1-56
