Job Description

Washington Internal Medicine - Northern Virginia Washington Internal Medicine, a physician-owned, single-specialty practice in Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative internal medicine setting. Position Overview The PA/NP will oversee and coordinate patient care, working closely with physicians to ensure effective diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. Key Responsibilities Collect, document, and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records Perform physical examinations and assess patient conditions Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results Develop preliminary diagnoses and treatment plans Order and administer diagnostic tests as needed Prescribe medications and therapies (with physician approval) Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care Utilize AI-supported electronic health records (EHR) across all aspects of care Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient status and care plans Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited PA or NP program Active Virginia state license National Provider Identifier (NPI) and DEA registration 1-3 years of experience as an Advanced Practitioner (preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred) Required Skills Strong clinical knowledge and independent decision-making ability Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding Attention to cleanliness and infection prevention protocols Strong listening skills and empathy toward patients Creative problem-solving and a positive, professional attitude What We're Looking For We're seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented provider who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Pay:
$74,880.00 - $124,800.00 per year
