Job Description

Riverside is currently seeking a Full time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospitalist team at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in
Gloucester, Virgina Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct inpatient care in collaboration with Hospitalist physicians. Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the care team. Perform procedures as credentialed and trained (e.g., central lines, intubation, etc.). Participate in daily rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning. Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
Master's or Doctoral degree (MSN or DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Physician Assistant:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Licensure & Certification (Required)
Nurse Practitioner:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia. Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license with a specialty designation aligned to inpatient care . National NP certification in the appropriate specialty:
Hospitalist/Inpatient Medicine:
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP-BC preferred)
Physician Assistant:
Active and unrestricted Virginia PA license . Current NCCPA certification . Prescriptive Authority Requirements Active DEA registration (or eligibility). Eligibility for Schedule II-VI prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Certifications Current BLS and ACLS (required for inpatient clinical settings). Experience Prior inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred but not required. New graduates with strong acute-care clinical rotations are encouraged to apply. Skills & Competencies Excellent clinical judgment , diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively with hospitalists, specialists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic preferred). Comfortable managing acutely ill adult patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.
