Urgent Care Careers at Bon Secours Bon Secours Mercy Health has expanded its footprint and is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our new Urgent Care clinics across Richmond, Virginia. This full-time and PRN position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As part of our urgent care team, you will manage a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries while working alongside a supportive staff that includes medical assistants and front-office team members. Our urgent care clinics are open 7 days per week, 8 a.m.

Urgent Care Scope of Services:
Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care Occupational medicine services, including workers' compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals On-site diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers as needed What We Offer Competitive compensation Employer paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage Flexible schedule Potential for overtime at premium rate Never On-Call
EPIC EMR
system utilized across the ministry (Full-Time Only below) Comprehensive benefits Generous paid time off and CME allowance Retirement savings plan with employer contribution Optional 4 administrative hours per week dedicated to charting Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Qualifications Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Virginia. Active DEA license A minimum two years of active FNP/PA experience Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting Willingness to float across all Richmond Urgent Care sites as needed for clinical coverage.
Work Hours Full-Time:
Three 8a-8p shifts per week with rotating weekends.
PRN:
Two 8a-8p shifts per month
  • minimum Clinic is closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
