Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a specialized behavioral health hospital in the Richmond, Virginia area. This role offers a collaborative, physician-supported environment with manageable patient volumes , allowing you to focus on high-quality inpatient psychiatric care while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

40 hours per week
    Call:
    1:4 weekends
      Patient Volume:
      15-18 patients per day
        Location:
        Petersburg, VA (Richmond metro area)
          Practice Setting:
          Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital (Acute, Partial Hospitalization and Residential treatment)
          • Support /
          Care Team:
          Psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, and case managers Responsibilities Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult and adolescent behavioral health patients
          • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary care teams
          • Perform psychiatric evaluations, and ongoing assessments
          • Conduct medication management and med-checks
          • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
          • Communicate with families regarding care and treatment updates
          • Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention
          • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and physician orders.
          • Participate in utilization reviews and discharge planning

                • Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) (ANCC)
                • Active or eligible Virginia NP/APRN license
