05/27/2026 Job Description Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County. The agency is currently recruiting for a Psychiatric / MH Nurse Practitioner. ARNP is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and coordination with community providers. Colonial Behavioral Health is recruiting for our brand-new 14,000 square foot, state of the art Center for Support and Wellness scheduled to open in Fall 2026. The Center for Support and Wellness will be home to our 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization, Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit and Crisis Services. We are seeking caring, innovative and compassionate professionals committed to utilize their skills to deliver urgent and life-saving behavioral treatment. You will be a part of a supportive multidisciplinary team providing low barrier treatment and developing the programs. Job Duties Position responsibility includes performing psychiatric diagnosis and treatment including prescribing and managing medication therapy, obtaining health histories, teaching and recommending other services as necessary. Position has clinical responsibility for monitoring participant treatment and staff delivery of clinical services. The ARNP is responsible for assuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws and relevant contract and procedure requirements associated with the operations within the Medical Services Department. Work Schedule Monday through Friday - 8:30am - 5:00pm Qualifications (EEO) Masters degree in Nursing, Psychiatric, VA Dept. of Health license as a Psychiatric ARNP with prescriptive authority, must have DEA certificate to prescribe controlled substance.
