Job Description

A well-established cardiothoracic surgery program in Silverdale, WA seeks a Locum APP (PA or NP) for a 6-9 month assignment. Experienced surgical APPs comfortable with postoperative, ICU, and consult management in a high-acuity hospital are encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
$190/hour Assignment length: 6-9 months Practice setting: Hospital 95%, Clinic 5%
Schedule:
Monday-Friday with call (1-2 weekday shifts + weekend rotation) Night call hours: 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Clinical responsibilities Provide inpatient perioperative and postoperative management for cardiothoracic patients Perform daily inpatient rounding and manage new consults/admissions Participate in ICU patient management and monitoring Assist in perioperative planning and postoperative care Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, nursing, and ancillary services Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation Typical patient volumes Hospital patients/day: 5-10
Admissions/day:
0-3 ICU census: 2-7 Surgical cases/day: 1-2 Preferred experience/procedures Cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair Lung resections, including VATS Chest wall and pleural procedures LVAD care and management Mechanical ventilation management Acute volume and blood-pressure management Central line insertion Cardiothoracic postoperative and ICU/critical care experience Qualifications Graduate of accredited PA or NP program PA-C or NP certification required Active Washington license required Prior cardiothoracic surgery experience strongly preferred Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Local candidates preferred
