Primary Care

Provide medical services to Veterans (mostly male) on an outpatient basis in the primary care setting. Disease processes include, but are not limited to: diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental health disorders, etc., with a major focus on preventive medicine. Lead the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) approach in the delivery of care, which emphasizes a team based approach to healthcare. Document all medical information in an electronic medical record. Perform medication reconciliation. Provide effective delivery of outpatient care while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. Maintain current clinical privileges, licensure, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and all other requirements as appropriate. Cooperate with, and participate in, medical duties or functions related to quality of care and peer review along with improvement/performance improvement activities at the direction of the Chief of the Medical Service. Pay:

Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off:

50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Performance Pay:

Up to 15K annually

Contract Buy Out Program:

This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
