Summary:

Follows infection control practices by using proper water temperature, laundry soap and chemicals. Operates equipment correctly to prevent accidents. Maintains an inventory of laundry supplies. Picks up soiled laundry and linen and delivers clean Items back to resident rooms in a timely manner. Performs routine laundry activities including sorting, loading machines, folding linen and laundry, keeps the laundry area clean and in order by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing. Operates, cleans and sanitizes washer and dryer. Cleans lint filter as needed.

Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job  One-year related experience in a similar environment with on-the-job training preferred  Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly; experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred  Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
