Personal Care Attendant or Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA)

Ridgeline Pediatric Day Health and Respite Services is a specialized care facility for children and adults with complex medical needs. We are looking for the right person to add to our small caring team. If you love children and want to help those with special health care needs then this is the place for you! Ridgeline was established in 2005 in Grass Valley, CA and also has facilities in Yuba City and Olivehurst.

Facility Hours:

Facility operating hours are M-S 7:30 AM - 6 PM. Open for 24-hour respite care on Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday morning and afternoon. Closed Sundays.

Reports To:

Nursing Supervisor or Registered Nurse Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assistive devices Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations and interventions accurately Support clients during outings or community activities to foster social engagement Recognize signs of medical emergencies and respond promptly, including performing CPR or first aid when needed Skills Proven experience in personal care, assisted living, or long-term care environments Knowledge of patient monitoring and vital signs measurement Familiarity with children, autism spectrum disorder, and complex medical needs Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while respecting client dignity and independence Strong communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare teams Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred CPR certification, first aid training are required and relevant caregiving certifications are advantageous Compassionate attitude with patience, empathy, and excellent observational skills for client safety

Qualifications:

Current CPR At least 2 verifiable references Clear criminal background Successful completion of a competency evaluation program.

Requirements:

1 year direct pediatric client care experience preferred but not required. Ability to lift, carry, bend, walk and reach as needed to perform client care and/or transfer of clients up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, clients, families, caregivers and the general public. Maintain standard level of professionalism and a positive community representation. Proof you are free of communicable disease. TB test/ screening. Access to reliable transportation.

Job Description:

Full time or Part-time, depending on the candidate, clients needs, and needs of the facility. Provide direct care services under a skilled nurse to pediatric and adult clients with special health care needs. Able to turn and position the client in a wheelchair, bed, mat, bean bag etc. Assist with transfers and ambulation. Prepare meals, feed or assist the client to eat orally or bolus tube feedings, assist or perform oral care and G- tube care. Perform all ADL care for the client or assist as needed to include but not limited to peri care/toileting. Keep the client care area clean and free of hazards, perform general housekeeping duties like wash laundry and change linens. Assist clients in the participation of independent and group activities. Must work well in a team environment. Be receptive and take guidance and direction from supervising RN/ LVN. Maintain a standard level of professionalism and positive community representation.
