Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and aging issues counseling Coordinate special events, outings, and recreational therapies that promote socialization and community engagement Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring comfort and independence during participation Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned events and sessions Collaborate with caregiving staff, social workers, and family members to tailor activities that support individual care plans Maintain accurate records of resident participation, preferences, and progress in activity logs Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages residents' participation and enhances their overall experience Qualifications Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings Must have active CNA certification Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents, staff, and families Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility, grooming, and other personal care tasks as needed Excellent schedule management skills to organize multiple activities seamlessly Background in social work or counseling related to aging issues is a plus Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life through engaging activities Join us in creating vibrant days filled with joy, connection, and purpose! Pay:
$20.00 - $21.50 per hour
