Job Description
Morgans Healthcare is a New York-based staffing agency that specializes in placing healthcare professionals into temporary travel and local contracts across the United States. Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential patient care services to incarcerated individuals within the Main Jail in Downtown Sacramento. This role is dedicated exclusively to this facility, no cross-training or rotation to other sites will be required. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, the CNA supports daily medical operations while maintaining safety, security, and professionalism in a correctional environment. Key Responsibilities Assist nursing staff with basic patient care, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or mental status Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health record systems Assist with intake screenings and medical evaluations of newly admitted inmates Transport patients within the facility for medical appointments or procedures Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of medical areas and equipment Follow all infection control, safety, and security protocols Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral emergencies Adhere to correctional facility rules, maintaining professional boundaries at all times Minimum Requirements Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and licensure under the Board of Nursing Current CPR/BLS certification High school diploma or equivalent Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in correctional, institutional, or acute care settings Good to excellent computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-security environment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work safely and effectively within a correctional facility Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations Working Conditions Assignment is exclusive to Main Jail - Downtown Sacramento (no cross-training to other facilities) Direct contact with incarcerated individuals in a secure environment Potential exposure to volatile or emergency situations Requires standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients for extended periods Must pass background checks and meet all Sheriff's Department security requirements Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage all qualified candidates to apply. .
