In this vital role, you will assist with daily patient care, support medical teams, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for individuals across various care settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your expertise in diverse healthcare environments, including long-term care, acute care, behavioral health, and community-based services. Duties Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and transfer devices. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Assist healthcare professionals with clinical procedures including phlebotomy, catheter care, aseptic techniques, and wound management for patients with complex needs such as dementia or infectious diseases. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and practicing proper aseptic techniques during patient interactions. Support patients with behavioral health challenges or developmental disabilities by providing compassionate engagement and tailored assistance. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric ICU), or hospice settings to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Experience Prior experience working in medical-surgical units, emergency departments, ICU settings, or long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly desirable. Hands-on experience in specialized areas such as Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care or behavioral health is preferred. Background working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in home & community care environments is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) training are a plus. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to support diverse patient populations across various healthcare settings including urgent care and post-acute care environments. Pay:
$48,489.00 - $79,168.00 per year
